MESS TO A MESSAGE

2 kings 4:1-7
One of the son's of the prophet died and left debt behind for her widowed wife. The debtors came to take her children as bondmen. That is, the children will be used as a slave in the farms or other labour to pay their father’s debt.
The amount owed was not stated in the bible but I am sure it’s not a small amount that could be forgiven. The children may be on this servitude for years, they may even die in the process.
These children are the only hope, the strength and the future of this widow. It’s really a pathetic situation!
This woman look around, family members and friends but no one to help. Am sure the debtors would have given her a deadline to make payment or gave up on her two children.
Are you in debt today and no means of payment yet?
Are you in lack and there’s no way out yet?
Are you in a messy situation and everything look hopeless?
Are you planning of doing something funny or commit suicide?
Have you concluded your case that you cannot come out of that challenge?
The case of this widow in question looks so hectic but she did one thing, she cried to a prophet of the living God, Prophet Elisha.
Who is a prophet? A prophet supposed to be:
The mouth piece of God
The representative of God
A prophet supposed to be a seer
He supposed to be the eyes of God
He supposed to be the teacher and the doer of God’s word.
He supposed to portray the image of God
NOTE: you must be your own prophet.

The prophet ask the woman a shocking question, what do you have in the house?

If you look at it logically, what will a debtor have, nothing i presume. Like the woman says, nothing but before she end her statement, she said except for a jar/bottle of oil.

She place no value on the oil.
She never thought that a jar of oil could be a solution to her problems
She can even give out the oil for free.

In your messy and hopeless situation, theirs still something within you or around you that can turn your mess to a message.

Many goes around with what they needed to succeed but they never discover it.

Many have bypassed opportunity severally because they are blind to them.

The solution to turn your mess to a message may not be in UK, or America or China, it may be within you or around you.

The prophet of the living God then gave another instructions, that look very stupid.
"When you get home, go and borrow plenty empty bucket, you and your children should come inside the house and shut the door and begin to pour that one bottle of oil into those borrowed plenty empty buckets"

First, before the woman could get empty buckets from her neighbors she must be good to her neighbors.
How are your relationship with people around you?
The people around you maybe one of the people God will use for you. That man or woman you overlooked and downgraded may be the keys that will open the doors to your next level.

The first good job I got was introduced by a guy who work at the bakery close to my house.

God will never come down to help you but he will send men to you.

Secondly, she never doubted the world of the man of God, she obeyed and follow the instructions,of the man of God to the latter without murmuring and complain.

He said in His words he used the foolish things to confound the wise.

The instructions of God maybe foolish most time, your obedience to them produce greater results and your disobedience makes you to remain in your mess.

How are your obedience to Gods instructions?

Obedience to God is a key to get you out of that mess and turn it to a message.

The widow obedience turned her mess to a message. A bottle of oil begin to multiply until all the empty buckets are filled up and the oil stayed.
The buckets could imply to mean information. Gather necessary information to increase your capacity. She gathered plenty of empty buckets, and her oil capacity increased.
Information is the currency of this age. A life without rightful information may not be able to get out of his or her mess.
To turn your mess to a message you need information that will change that situation.
The widow, came back to tell the man of God what has happened, the man of God told her to sell, pay her debt, and to feed her children from the rest.

Many have received numerous blessings from God, but they never comes back to God to say thank you. Many mess has already turned to a message but many kept it to themselves.

Your testimonies is a message out of your mess. Sharing it will be a blessing to others and your life will end up bringing healings to others.
