BEING A BLESSINGS TO OTHERS
Have you wonder why you are better than those you were giving birth to at the same time or those of your course mate that you both graduated together?
Have you also ask yourself why your life is more progressive than some others?
Have you ask yourself why are you more prosperous than some others in the same line of businesses or profession?
All these questions can be answer in one sentence “God’s blessings upon your life”
If one removed God’s blessing from a life, even if that fellow work with an oil company or with the world bank, he/she will have nothing to show for his/her labour.
The essence of God’s blessing upon your life is to be a blessing to others in needs. Always remember that the way you are been given birth to is the same way those who are in need was give birth to. Those in the orphanage homes, those in the hospital, the handicap, and the perfect man but are in serious need.
will you tell God that He has made a mistake for prospering you or are you going to tell God that why will I be a blessing to others why all I have gotten in life, I seriously work hard to get them.
Your case will not be differ from that rich man in the bible in the epistle according to Saint Luke chapter 12 verse 16 to 21 “And he spake a parable unto them, saying, the ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying, what shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said this will I do: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there will bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, soul thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God”
Been a blessing to others is an act of thanking God for His goodness in your life. That man or woman whom you have tagged a beggars and good for nothing; What if you are in his or her position? Or do you think it can’t be possible? It can.
But thank God for His goodness in your life.
A practical biblical example was the shunamite woman In 11 Kings 4:8-17 “And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread. And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceived that this is a holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.
Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candle stick: And it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither. And it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber, and lay there. And he said to Gehazi his servant, call this Shunamite. And when he had called her, she stood before him. And he said unto him, say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? Wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people. And he said, what then is to be done for her?
And Gehazi answered, verily she hath no child, and her husband is old. And he said, call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door. And he said, about this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid. And the women conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.”
The shunamite woman identify and meet the needs of the man of God, through her heart of giving and her tears of childlessness was wiped away, not only that the child eventually died and he was brought back to life.
What brought Dorcas back to life was her good deeds
Be rest assured that, God will always reward every act of giving to the needies on earth.
According to Luke chapter 6 verse 38 “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaking together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again”
Whatever needs you meet in any life is not a waste of investment. It has returns on investment from the Lord. Not only on earth, it has also an eternal rewards.
According to Saint Matthew chapter 25 verse 34 to 46 “Then shall the king say unto them on his right hand, come, ye blessed of my father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick; and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? Or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the king shall answer and say unto them, verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was hungered, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”
