My name is Joseph Abiola Olaomo I was born into the family of Late pastor Samuel and Evangelist Ruth Olaomo in Eti-Osa Local government area (VI), when I was a year old I was taken to the village, in oyo state, soku ayekale precisely not too far from iseyin from there I started my primary education and my early secondary education I was about to be promoted to JSS 2 in 1993 when my mum came around and she forcefully took me away from the village.
On getting to Lagos my dad sent me back to primary five (5) at maidan primary school in mile-12, all because I could not read anything, infact I could not read “Holy Bible” It was my siblings that were teaching me how to write and spell go, that, where, come Etc.
As soon as I came around a new rule was formulated no more vernacular , then It was so hard for me, because If find it difficult to spell and write go, that, come, where etc how on earth could I speak in English.
If am hungry or I need anything I have to be silent and to be praying to God that someone should ask me if am hungry, It continue this way for years. By force by fire I started learning how to write and to speak. After my primary school education I proceeded to Ayedere Ajibola High School ketu for my secondary education on getting to the school the vice-principal said “she cannot register me because I am too old to be in JSS1” my father pleaded for hours before she finally registered me. By God's grace I passed out from secondary school.
After my secondary education I stayed at home for some years because of JAMB and O, Level, I sat for 6 O, Level and 4 JAMB before I finally gain admission to higher institution, even before my name came out for admission I smell hell, I put in for accounting and banking and finance my name came out in industrial and labour relations two weeks to the exam of which I have been receiving lecture on accounting.
But despite all challenges with the help of the Almighty God I finally graduated in 2009 and went for my NYSC in 2010 and came back in June 2011.
It has been God all the way!
No matter what, you can still fulfil your dream.
You can still come out of that challenges
You will succeed
Joseph Olaomo
